What do you call an actuary with a sense of humour? An oxymoron

Welcome to “Actuarial Tutor” on substack!

This geeky newsletter1 will consist of funny memes and jokes2 about maths, stats and the actuarial world that I also post on my Twitter and LinkedIn accounts but the evil social media algorithms prevent my followers from seeing3.

What are you letting yourself in for?

Well, here’s a sample of some of my original memes:

The memes/jokes will always be free4 and I typically post a handful of times a week.

You’ll also be notified of when my next book “Actuarial Fairy Tales” is released at a special subscriber discount price before it goes up to the full price and I let everyone else know about it.

Occasionally, I’ll also create videos to help those studying the actuarial exams.

If you want to become a paid subscriber5 then you’ll get sneak peeks of the actuarial comedy books I’m writing and signed copies (paperback or hardback) of the finished products (providing I can deliver to your country).

Note there won’t be any actual news in the newsletter but there will be letters. However, since you’re likely to be someone who likes maths, I’ll try to limit the number of them.

2

Please bear in mind: what actuaries find funny may not actually be considered funny by anyone else.

3

Probably something to do with keeping society safe from my sense of humour.

4

Because no-one would ever pay for them.

5

You may also wish to seek medical help.
