I think it is a ridiculous, massive overreach by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries to demand that you remove your joke/meme from Linked In and Twitter. Almost any joke (or indeed any post touching on any non trivial topic) can be deemed "offensive" by someone. Is the IFoA saying that none of its members may make jokes whether in a professional or a personal capacity. I suspect that not only most actuaries, but most members of the general public would regard the IFoA getting involved in censoring a joke (unless grossly offensive, which I don't think anyone has claimed yours was, or could reasonably claim it to be) as far more damaging to the reputation of actuaries than your meme could be. By a ratio of over 10 to 1 so far, the results indicate that the IFoA overstepped the mark. I think they owe you, their members, and other actuaries an apology.
Technically, they didn't ask me to remove it. They expressed concerns and my boss asked me to remove it. But had I posted it without "ActEd" next to the meme - then it would have been fine.
